Zip Tester

Mechanical testing
of slide fasteners

The Zip Tester is specifically designed to permit the mechanical testing of slide fasteners in accordance with
Bristish Standards BS3084.

The latest development of the Zip Tester incorporates a larger access door for greatly improved access to the working parts that require adjustment. An integral control console is situated at a convenient height for the operator.

The test described in BS 3084 have been devised to permit their direct application to finished fasteners with a view to giving the consumer reasonable assurance that a fastener complying with the British Standard will satisfactorily fulfil its purpose. The apparatus incorporates means to apply controlled lateral and longitudinal forces to the stringers whilst the slide fastener puller is moved in a regular harmonic reciprocating action.

Unit Features:

•  Electronic counter automatically stops the drive when the pre-selected count has been achieved.
•  Lateral and longitudinal loads can be varied between 0-10kg and 0-5kg.
•  Slider stroke length is adjustable to provide a range of 150 to 180mm.
•  Manufactures from heavy gauge steel for stability and durability.
•  Slide fastener clamps are manufactured from corrosion resistant material.
